Spring Break 2013 in South Beach

South Beach is an up and coming Spring Break location. When the sun goes down, the neon lights go on and South Beach heats up.

This historic Art Deco District of South Miami Beach is well known for it's chic sidewalk cafes, trendy restaurants and non stop partying. A favorite destination of those escaping New York in winter, South Beach, has always been popular with models, movie stars, and musicians.

Miami Beach is also home for the largest dance music event in the country. If your Spring Break spans March 8th to 12th catch the Winter Music Festival 2013 or one of the many promotional events staged around the conference.

Now in its 29th year, the WMC attracts top international artists, DJs and record labels. Becasue of the promotional nature of the conference there are usually 20-40 events staged at different night clubs and hotels. During the day there are spin-offs at various hotel pool decks.

There is nothing like staying at one of the hotels and condos along the coasts of world famous South Beach. During the day enjoy Miami's beautiful sun drenched beaches. You can lie peacefully in the sun, drink in hand of course, and work on your tan until the sun sets, when you can hit the clubs! This city never sleeps! The nightlife is unrivaled and the clubs stay open until dawn.

Even if you dont't attend the actual conference the events arount town make Miami Beach one of the hottest International Spring Break locations.

There are two things to consider if you are headed for South Beach. First, make sure everyone in your party is 21 or has adaquate documentation. Second, make sure that you have enough money to enjoy your stay.

Top Ten Tips for South Beach

You can drink on the beach drink on the beach, but no glass bottles are allowed!

There are corporate sponsored events during the day by MTV and Playboy. The is no large venue beachside, so the events are located in several hotels.

Some of the hotels have rooms with kitchens, you need to book early if you want one.

The drinking age in Florida is 21 but you can get into the bars and clubs if you are at least 18. You will find that the bars and clubs are very strict on IDs.

Florida does not allow open containers of alcoholic beverages in vechicles or within 50 feet of a public throughfare.

There is not any "fast food" beachside. You will have to go over to Collins Avenue or Washington to find convience stores and "fast-food". You will find that some of the Upscale Cafes beachside are not too pricy.

Expect to spend between 300-400 dollars during your trip.

Remember to protect yourself with SPF 15 Sunblock for day.
