What exactly are we called? Anyway, we just booked our asses baby! We're headed down. We've done that Padre thing for like 5 years and it's gotten pretty sad. Bordertown Mexico is scary now! However, we're Cancun Virgins and would appreciate any help you guys might have in lieu of advice on the best places to go, the decent day time things to do (yes, I know drinking is among the list, but we need to take pictures of something to show our family we didn't live like Kennedy's the *whole* time), so on.

I went to Cancun last year for spring break 2000. I was there March 18th -25th. I have to say this was the best week of my entire life. The Oasis Cancun is the hotel to stay at. If you can't stay there, you have to at least check it out during the day. It will be well worth it. Guys the best tour company is ESTUDENTTRAVEL.COM by far. I went with them for 2 years straight and they are the most "hooked up" as far as Cancun goes. For instance, we had some problems with our flight (5 hour delay), so they gave all of us free all-inclusive drinking/food for the whole week. I thought that was sick.

(KUTV) A Mexican vacation turns into a spring break nightmare for a group of college kids. They paid for a trip that never happened, and now they can't get a refund. Sounds like it's time to Get-Gephardt.
It could be more than 100 people in Utah who are facing this disappointment, and are feeling cheated tonight. It's a trip some wish they'd never signed up for.
What was supposed to be a once-in-a-lifetime college trip to Cancun, Mexico is just a bunch of papers for Benito Chicone and Zach Lund.

Both paid up front $824 to Estudenttravel.com in Jupiter, Florida for what promised to be "Spring Break 2000." They heard about it from a friend, who, the company promises, would go for free if he recruited a certain number of students. Benito and Zach agreed to be recruited, but then the night before the trip was to leave a month ago, the Florida company canceled the trip. And so far no refunds.
"We really planned on this. I mean, our friends, we've been talking about it for months. We've been talking about what we're going to do and we've been shopping for clothes. Plus I didn't have any money to do anything for spring break, because I dumped all my money into this, so that was kind of a bummer."
When I was able to contact one of Estudenttravel.com owners, he told me the refund checks will be in the hands of the students by Friday. But I found out the Utah Division of Consumer Protection already has a file opened on the company also known as Student Travel America, and, they say, Surf and Sun Tours.
There may be more than 100 disappointed Utah students, and Florida authorities have heard of others.
"They have had complaints from across the country."
And a big worry here is another planned trip from Utah by Estudenttravel.com
"They have ruined spring break for many students, and now they're attempting to do a senior trip. And at this point, I couldn't even recommend they do that."
While I'm told Benito and Zach will get their money back, it doesn't make up for a lost vacation. And the Consumer Protection Division wants to hear from you if you are having the same problem.

And the big caution is dealing with out-of-state travel people. If it were in-state, you might have more confidence that in the event of a canceled flight, your local agent would find a way to make your trip happen. As far as refunds are concerned, it's easier to enforce them in-state, rather than out-of-state.
One part of this promotion, i'm guessing, is that it was a bargain package.
That's how it is sold. But I've found that if you do a little advance shopping with a local travel agent, you can get the same, or a better deal...especially if you book a group package.

The hotel was very nice, and the clubs were even better. Dont let any critisizm about that place scare you away from staying there, it was totally worth it.

ok, i am totally stoked to that i found this site. it's some good, entertaining reading. But yeah, being the broke kids we were last break, we toughed it out and flew to myrtle beach. it was rockin. i know there may have been crazy parties in other locations, but it flowed like wine on mrytle beach. IF was definitely the place to be. I am not remembering much, but i was told i had fun. i hope i did. were all lookin to slurge this year and take the party down south, to Cancun. yeah it wii be quite a step up from myrtle, but we are ready to get insane. Let me know, since i am like coordinating this whole trip for like thrirty friends in my hall, where the best location is, the cheapest-yet liveable places, and where the mayhem lives. we want to be in the center of it all.

Greetings fellow Spring Break fans. My name is Tony & I am a pretty seasoned Spring Breaker from San Francisco. (No, all you homophob's in Texas & Arkansas I'm not a queer). I'm 30 years old, which is like 102 in Spring Break years, & although I graduated from college many moons ago I still party with the best of 'em. I have been to Havasu, Vegas, South Padre Island, Puerto Vallarta, San Diego, San Felipe, Lake Shasta, Santa Cruz, Denver, Phoenix & the epic mini cruise from L.A. to Encinada. I can honestly say that they all rocked. True some spots are definitely better than others, but Spring Break like anything else is what you make it. The key is not necesarrily hitting the absolute hottest spot, or following the MTV crowd. There are 3 essential ingredients to a great Spring Break trip 1) having the Spring Break attitude, 2) gathering a great "crew" & 3) timing. If you are a small group, perhaps you feel like you don't have enough people to make it happen. Don't let this worry you. There are a lot a you out there & thanks to Al Gore who invited this wonderful thing called the internet you can all hook up in advance. First you will need to decide on your location. There are so many awesome spots to choose from, this is sometimes the most difficult part. Then get the dates that you'll be out of school & schools near your location will be out. Havasu rocks, but only for a select week. If you don't time it out right you'll be floating in an inner tube on a desserted lake with absolutely nothing to do, but jump off the London Bridge. If you're are unsure of the right week to book or have an odd school break a good option is a place like Vegas becasue Spring Break or not it's gonna be good time for you & your Spring Break spirited friends. Don't wait to book your plans, or you'll be SOL. The time is now to start researching, planning & booking. Get as many of your friends to commit now! Then start recruiting from the outside. You can do this on this site or many others like it. If you're traveling in small numbers, make contacts before hand. Chat, exchange pictures & hook up at your determined destination. I personally have never done this because I used to travel in large packs. Now that I'm an old man, it is more difficult to get people together. For those of you in the Southern Cal, AZ area looking for a great trip I recommend San Felipe, Mex. I was there several years ago & will be going back for more in 2001. Some nice things about San Felpie is it's relatively small, but packs 'em in. The nightclubs (there are only a handful) absolutely rock because there aren't a lot of options for the masses. The town welcomes & caters to young drunken revalers. They know where there dinero comes from. It's also affordable, because it's a close drive from the CA/AZ border, and for the extremely budgeted you can camp out on the beaches (though I don't recommend this for the amateur camper, or for groups of woman). For those of you into dirt bikes & Dune Buggies it's a haven for the motorly inclined. Yes, It's a long ass drive from S.F., but I will be making a stop in So. Cal & Vegas as well. I will be traveling with a handful of select partiers & am always looking for new "crew" members to recruit. If you are a small group of amateur Spring Breakers looking for a good time & think San Felipe &/or Vegas is in order you can e-mail me at tvitalie@ci.sausalito.ca.us. Getting ready to book a spring break trip with my friends for late February 2001. We are from Canada so our spring break is the third week in Feb. Either Mazatlan, Acapulco, or Cancun. If you're looking for an alternative Spring Break (and you have the money to spend) check out the party island of Ibiza. It's an island off the caost of Spain,and it invented what we now recognise as debauchery. The drinking age in Spain is sixteen and you can get into clubs too.So check it out if you've got the balls (or the wallet).

I had the best fucking kiss ass time in Cancun this past Spring Break. The company I went throught was awsome i got to hang with the owner and got VIP every where I went. My Daughter and her class went to Cancun this springbreak with a company called Estudenttravel.com. I had never heard of the company before, however she ended up going and had a great time. Some friends of ours also had students that traveled with this company as well. They felt the company was a little disorganized but that the kids were treated well. As a frequent business traveler, I expect flight delays and other problems expecially when I fly internationally. As a parent as long as my kids are being taken care of I'm a happy parent.

Anybody that was in Panama City Beach from 3/24 - 3/31 will know what I'm talking about when I say that it absolutely ROCKED!! Spinnaker's, Club La Vela, and Harpoon Harry's were THE places to be at night, while the Holiday Inn beachfront was THE place to be during the day! It sure was hard to come back to cold northern Minnesota after spending a week in heaven.... sun, ocean, great clubs, lots of alcohol, and beautiful women... who could ask for any better? =) If any of you remember the 13 guys and 11 girls that came down from northern Minnesota, please e-mail!! I was at Spring Break Daytona 2000. I was completely disappointed. Between the gang fight that happen at our hotel and the missing posters of three girls who went down just a week and a half ago and never returned home, I had the worst time. It was definitely not the kind of spring break you see on MTV. If you dont mind ambulances in every direction taking people to the hospitals for either drinking toooo much or in complete pools of their own blood from being randomly beat almost to death, this is the place for you. Just walking by hotels girls were almost dragged in by groups of guys to drunk to know any better. There is alot more a saw that is unbelieveable, but ill spare you the details. Please put this on your web site for unsespecting people wanting to go to Daytona Spring Break to drink, be merry, and have a good time, This is just a word of warning go somewhere else where you can feel somewhat safe. One last thing,When I got home i heard on the news that a 21 year old boy fell over a belcony of a hotel two doors down from where i was staying and died. Sadly enough I'm not surprised.

Out of all the bars we went to down there, Harpoon Harry's was the best. They had the best prices on drinks, and best bartenders. My daughter just got back from Cancun on a Sun Splash Tour. It was a vacation from hell. Sun Splash displaced thousands of students in Cancun. The attorney general in Connecticut has initiated an investigation of this tour group. One of the problems is that this group operates under several different names. Please spread the word that many of these tour operators are out to rip off college students. They are much better off booking their vacations through a reputable travel agency.

accomodations, but after that it was a paradise. The country is
BEAUTIFUL and the people are very friendly. We all had a few
very interesting experiences with the locals. The seven days I
spent on the 7-mile beach in Negril were the best of my life.

Just want to let all buyers beware. Surf and sun tours or college tours (same company) are under investigation by the FTC and three counts of false and misleading advertising have been filed against them. Their story is in the USATODAY paper and at the FTC website. Be careful when thinking about using them. They love to scam over students, and they will do it too. They do give a bad rap to the other tour operators of spring break. Best suggestion is to stay away, your choice, but you been warned

Hey whats up everyone! I have to admit that I was a little bit skeptical about posting something here, but hey...this is about Spring Break! And when dealing with Spring Break one needs to have a care free attitude, cause that is what Spring Break is all about! Anyway, me and my friends are from Southern California, and there is no way that we plan on being left out of the Spring Break 2000 festivities. Last year we spent it in Mazatlan, Mexico and had a blast! This year we were looking for something just as fun only a little bit more inexpensive...I'm sure all of you can understand...hey that's just life as a college student! Basically we narrowed it down to Lake Havasu, Arizona. Only problem is none of us have ever been. So, what I'm asking from everyone out there is if you have had the opportunity to enjoy one of your previous Spring Breaks in Lake Havasu, please fill me in on what we should expect to experience and what we should look into as far as nightlife, places to consider staying, etc. Thanks everyone for your time and help!

Does anyone know when Texas State Week is? I am thinking about going to South Padre for S.B. 2000, but I am only going to go if it is during Texas State Week. I went two years ago during Texas State Week, and it was a mad house. And to all those looking for a S.B. package, F-ck Surf and Sun Tours, and College Tours right up their ass. All they do is over book planes and hotel, and leave hundreds pissed off. Don't role the dice with those guys! And, to those who are thinking about going to Cancun, it's a farkin' blast. Just be willing to spend more then you would at another destination. And, if you are deciding on how nice of a hotel you want, I'd splurge on that extra $100 to get into a nice joint. A lot of the place down there are dives, but they are made to look nice. The place I stayed at was similar to a Days Inn, and for a $100 more, I could have had the Oasis.

Just got back from Cancun Summer break... It was awesome...I was reading about all of the complaints about SURF and SUN Tours... they SUCK... I heard they might go out of buisness. There were so many complaints. USA Student Travel is the biggest and from what i hear the best company in Cancun. They have a website at Student-Travel.com.. a word of advice... DONT GO WITH SURF AND SUN.. YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF!!!

I just wanted to let everyone know that if you're in the Daytona Beach area, stay FAR away from The Esquire. It's a really crappy place and the woman who runs it is a psycho-bitch. She'll be really nice to you when you check in and cut you a "great" deal but if you have any problems she'll basically tell you to go to hell. Trust me, you can cut deals with anyone anywhere- the pink Holiday Inn is the BEST! friendly warning from the Denison DGs!

Whats up spring breakers. Went to PCB from March 19th to the 25th. It was sooooo much fun. Got stopped by the cops on the way down in AL for speeding but she let me off with a warning. Saw Cowboy Mouth, WCW Monday Nitro Wrestling, Velcro Pygimes who were the best, and Vanilla Ice (it reminded me when MC Hammer tried doing gangster rap...) If you ever get a chance GO!!!! There were so many people and the weather was perfect, plus there was free beer at alot of the clubs from 7-9 pm. Panama City was the best.

Listen to all the others, dont use Surf and Sun or any of the others linked to it. One company owns all of them and that company rips you off big time. Just a word of wisdom: Avoid the following Spring break tour companies: College Tours, Surf and Sun Tours, Island Tours, Sun Splash Tours, Travel News Cancun !!! They are all the same company and then are in the business to f*ck you over. If anyone had any problems this spring break, i urge you to write to the better business bureau and help get rid of these punks so they can never scam anyone ever again. Anybody else have problems with these guys ? If so, get the word out!!!

Just a note--AVIOD COLLEGE TOURS--we just went to Cancun with them and our plane was 12 hours late leaving We had to go thru 4 hotels because they had overbooked and ended up getting a room with 1 bed. They wouldnt answer any questions we had Our friends had to sleep in a lobby for 2 nights because--oops--they ran out of rooms---Yeah they are real professional And the best is coming home--sat in hte Mexican airport for 16 hours--flew us to the wrong airport--had to rent a car and driove to our car in Charlotte We didnt sleep for 45 hours straight--thanks to coffee and caffine pills and being pissed off--Just thought wed share this with u AVOID COLLEGE TOURS

I just got back from Daytona. It was a great time considering Holiday Inn SunSpree through me out the first night I was there. Anybody going to Daytona be sure to advoid Holiday Inn they are a bunch of cocks. There were secrurity guards on every floor 24/7. Please include yourself in my boycott of Holiday Inn SunSpree Daytona Beach Florida. Its the worst place to be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
