Spring Breakers, a new college-age crime flick starring Disney Starlet Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens, made its first public splash in St Petersburg, Florida after filming for a week on a closed set at Sarasota's Ringling College of Art and Design.
The film "Spring breakers" was written and directed by Harmony Korine the production closed down Corey Avenue in Tampa for hours while filming the bogus debauchery.
Several dozen extras dressed for the beach participated in the shoot, while hundreds more dressed just like them looked on from the sidewalks — most looking for a chance to see Gomez, the starlet who's dating pop sensation Justin Bieber who was also in town during production.

Gomez, Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine (the director's wife) are playing college students - Brit, Candy, Cotty, and Faith who have been best friends since grade school. They live together in a boring college dorm and are hungry for a real spring break adventure. All they have to do is save enough money for spring break to get their shot at having some real fun.
Gomez, Hudgens, Benson and Rachel Korine arrived on location just after 5 p.m. and began the shoot riding scooters from Gulf Boulevard to Boca Ciega Drive. They whooped and flirting their way through the crowd for five takes to create a sequence that will last maybe 30 seconds on screen.
